Discussion post response to classmate topic 7 dq 1  Tammy RichardsonPosted DateOct 23, 2021, 11:27 PMHi Dr. Hale & Classmates:The purpose of a literature review is to acquire an understanding of a topic through learningwhat research has already been completed on the topic, what methods were previously used toexamine the topic and a profile of the findings of the previous research.  The top five criteria for selecting high quality empirical articles for my literature review are: credibility, dependability, confirmability, transferability, and reflexivity (Lincoln and Guba, 2021).These top five criteria should be articles that clearly expound upon the five research methods used for qualitative research data which are these most common data analysis methods to help you complete the dissertation (Yadav, 2021):          Content analysis: This method is used to analyze documented information from texts, email, media and tangible items. Researchers use this method to analyze responses from large datasets, often thousands of pages of publicly available data, as well as from interviewees.          Thematic analysis: This method focuses on a ground-up or inductive approach to discovering patterns in the data through a series of coding exercises to develop themes.          Narrative analysis: This method analyzes story-based content from sources such as interviews. Researchers use this method to find stories and create master narratives based on the data to answer their research questions.          Phenomenological analysis: This method analyzes the way that participants in the study describe their lived experiences using a specific approach that focuses on what is meaningful to the participant.          Grounded theory: This method uses qualitative data to describe a particular phenomenon and to develop a theory based on extensive observations, interviews and other data collection techniques.Finally, credibility helps establish trustworthiness and is about determining how congruent the findings are with accuracy. Transferability requires the researcher to provide sufficient data and context to enable the previewers to judge whether the findings can be applied to other situations and contexts. Dependability refers to having sufficient details and documentation of the methods so that the study can be examined and replicated. Confirmability ensures that the studys findings are the result of the experiences of the informants rather than the preferences of the researcher(s) and can be achieved through raw data, memos, notes, data reduction and analysis. In the end, a high-quality literature review solidifies that the researcher uses the most credible sources such as professional journals, synthesize relevant papers including those that may be contrary to ones hypotheses, intuitively organized overview of the literature and a conclusion that summarizes andsynthesizes key ideas from the review (Yadav, 2021).As a last resort, be sure you have provided valid answers to these few questions regarding your literature review:          Have you clearly indicated the scope and purpose of the review?          Have you included a balanced coverage of what is available?          Have you included the most recent and relevant studies?          Have you included enough material to show the development and limitations in this area?          Have you indicated the source of the literature by referencing accurately?          Have you used mostly primary sources or appropriate secondary sources?
